Assessing Using Mathematics

Assessing how well a pupil has used mathematics in a variety of contexts across the curriculum helps you monitor and track the effectiveness of the numeracy strategies within your school.  Just as pupils need good literacy to access knowledge and understanding within different subjects, good numeracy is equally important. Through the assessment of Using Mathematics you will be able to determine whether or not your pupils can demonstrate the mathematical knowledge, understanding and skills needed to access different areas of the curriculum.  Through both formative and summative assessment you can progress pupil development and help them achieve their full potential, as well as preparing pupils with life-long learning skills that will be utilised beyond school.
